Did you know Tom Brady, the greatest quarterback of all time, was almost a professional baseball player? The
seven-time Super Bowl champion was drafted in the 18th round of the 1995 MLB Draft by the Montreal Expos as a
catcher and projected to be an All-Star. As we all know, he chose football, and everything turned out alright
for No. 12.
In honor of what could have been, Fanatics Collectibles is creating a day full of Brady, all centered around an
alternative universe where Brady chooses baseball and goes on to win seven World Series, three MVPs, and gets
inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Collectibles today released a new trading card set, Topps 2023 Bowman Draft, that includes Brady’s first
ever baseball card. The cards feature Brady in an Expos uniform and include rare, autographed cards, some with
unique inscriptions, such as: “If this baseball thing doesn’t work out, there’s always
football”.
In addition to Brady, players in the set
include Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes, Detroit Tigers outfielder Max Clark, and Texas Rangers
outfielder Wyatt Langford.
Mitchell & Ness and Fanatics are also selling a retro No. 12 Montreal Expos jersey. Breakers on Fanatics Live will be wearing a blue version of the jersey as they open card packs today.
